The American Evolution; Jimmy Olsen discovers a scheme by a number of Darkseid's lackeys to devolve the population of Metropolis, and eventually the Earth, in order to make it ripe for conquest; He rescues the Guardian from their clutches and sets about destroying their weird machine hidden inside the newly rebuilt Daily Planet globe, with reluctant help from apparently spineless Planet doorman Bernie Sobel.
